Overview of University of Comilla (UNIC)

The University of Comilla (UNIC) is one of the private universities in Bangladesh built under the wooden leg of vision and efforts of the Comilla Education Science & Technology Development Trust (COESTDT)- established in 1995 under the Private University Act of 1992. Strives to provide education of world standard, UNIC has remained steadfast in commitment of becoming one of the leading private universities of Bangladesh.

Foundation and Governance

UNIC was founded by COESTDT, which is a charitable, non-profit, non-commercial and non-political organization. The trust COESTDT was later renamed to The University of Comilla Trust (UNICT) in accordance with the Private University Act of 2010. As a voluntary body registered under the Trust Registration Act XXI of 1860, UNICT aims to pay attention to the development of higher education in Bangladesh.

The governance of UNICT is composed of a diverse and eminent a group that include, but are not limited to, educators, philanthropists, industrialists, jurists, senior academics, and former civil servants.
